The customer’s project is to filter the impurities in the brine. The brine storage tank of the customer’s project is a 2-meter tank. The tank has no outlet. It needs to pump the liquid into the filter. During the extraction process, the main problem is that the pump unable to suck the brine into the bag filter housing.
We checked the whole process on site carefully. The filter and centrifugal pump worked normally and the pipes were not blocked. It was found that the reason why the water could not be pumped was that the customer did not drain the air in the pipeline when operating the centrifugal pump to suck water from the brine storage tank, and the pipeline was not completely sealed.
We reconnected the pipeline between the liquid storage tank and the pump, sealed it, filled the pipeline with water to ensure that there was no air, and then started the motor.
Although the centrifugal pump has a certain self-priming capacity, it must be fully sealed and free of air leakage during the installation of the inlet pipeline. The reason why the centrifugal pump can’t pump water may be that the user has not installed and used it correctly.
The correct installation and use method is that the suction pipe of the centrifugal pump must be installed with a bottom valve at the bottom of the pool. Before starting, the whole pump body and the inlet pipe need to be filled with water. Before starting, the outlet valve needs to be closed. After starting the centrifugal pump, slowly open the outlet valve.
The self-priming performance of each centrifugal pump varies according to the model, when selecting the type, you need to know the model of pump, so as to know the effective self-priming height of the centrifugal pump.
